Includes unlimited streaming via the free Bandcamp app, plus high-quality download in MP3, FLAC and more.

An album that's solo / acoustic. A blend of Americana - folk-influences, combined with pop energy and a background of instrumentals that complete the harmonic quality.

From the creator: "I wanted to be able to present these stories, these songs, in a way that keeps its integrity. My goal with songwriting is to make something that lasts, and can be adapted by different voices and instruments. I have extensive vocal training but prefer to let the wildness of the voice sometimes show through.. Also, this album speaks of stories ranging from South St. Seaport/Fish Market, to surfing, to the American West. There's really a lot there, as I'm constantly gathering inspiration."

This album was self-produced on an iPhone. It is recommended that you listen from a device specific to music/sound use - such as iPhone, iPod, etc. - using headphones. A desktop computer will not yield ideal sound results. All songs written & performed by Jacquelyn Heloise [ Liebman]. Visit www.jheloise for more info.

Swan in the Meadowlands, which aren’t meadow at all The only one who thinks you belong there is you They’ve got you by the feet, in a strange gravity Thick brown waters, someone else’s profit scheme You can fly but you just can’t go Just can’t leave this putrid sort of home Well you know, your tambourine man sows the hope Of some future go ‘Cause all you need is go Don’t you know Swan in the Meadowlands, which aren’t meadow at all This life, this water, tangled ‘neath a bridge of concrete Gather your feet, your heart, your wings -- sun shines, oh it sings. The time and place for sorrow’s past, It’s no time to be last Don’t blink it’s go All you need is go Don’t you know Go to the place that calls your name Go, don’t you finish - go in the rain. Go, it’s like a wind that carries you Blinding your eyes You won’t know how or why All you need is go Don’t you know

Don’t make me wait in the dark When your love like a spark Lies awake, lights the way Oh my love, what can I say? But to lead this heart on Giving hope some new dawn If you don’t mean to stay If you just mean to say It’s all play, well then hey Me and my cowboy boots Are running away Gone yesterday I’ve spent my days doing fine Without fear, without wine Don’t need pain, don’t need lies Now just look me in the eyes Let me see what your made of If love’s in your smile If you can’t walk the miles Then me and my cowboy boots Are running away Gone yesterday

Lyrics: I want to be something simple Want to say something simple Want to make people cry Like you did to me Patiently And yeah I guess I’ve got no right To be in your light ‘Cause your superstar glow Keeps the whole world on its toes And I want the real thing Yeah, the real thing. I wanna know how it goes When you glow I want it slow I want to let go I don’t think your cat eyes tell lies Well, mine don’t disguise Only sometimes when I just can’t say goodbye Yeah it’s some kind of power Desire for the hours What if it’s better left on hold? To unfold in the ways of the future but I want the real thing Yeah, the real thing I wanna know how it goes When you glow I want it slow I want to let go They say you’ve gotta know yourself Before you can know someone else But darlin’, I’ve seen your eyes In the crystal blue oceans the sounds of the tides and I (CHORUS)

Hey Stranger 03:09
Hey stranger don’t call me a tiger When I see your lion hide And leopard tongue You look like cats but run with guns Your beat like drums Just sounds like warpath summons And I can’t help but thinkin’ I’ve found my way Into the wrong nursery rhyme Into the long stitch in time That brings me to some wormhole in your mind Where everything is fine Except everything that’s mine And everything theirs Cause yours is gold And hey stranger Where’s danger? Hey stranger there’s danger you know In your claws When they outta control So do me a favor And savor some wagers on a plot Just a little less cruel Cause I’m not your fool If you really want to see Some rock ‘n’ roll shootout There’s westerns and mud And there’s carnage somewhere now, too But maybe, see, somewhere there’s stars with your name on them And they’re begging you, loving you, wishing and seeing you through Your coat, it is beautiful We’ve all got claws Keep your cool.

May all beings On golden throne Lifted skyward soon be shown Though it seems what separates Cannot be mended Oh, but hate Is just a wave of thoughts And love is what we ought to feel Twists and turns, This tangled body Longs to see The word “peace” On the face, written neat. The only way to get where you’re going Is the long way and the hard way. All that we can hope for Is shining colors deep Though we weep Your dance, I know It is written on your Wayward shoulder soul.

Gypsy Heart 04:01
Lyrics: If I had the strength to ask I’d know our moment’s past All of the joy I’ve known Comfort be dead and gone Cause how can you say you choose Life in another’s shoes I’d gladly walk away But for this game we play ‘Cause perfect ain’t perfect till it’s done And somewhere in between I forgot where we came from Now, I don’t mind losing this one Cause this gypsy heart’s Gotta travel on Now I know the life I lead May not be diamonds and tweed I have no 9-to-5, Can’t offer but love alive And if all your dreams Take more than my little schemes If all my apologies Just leave you empty at the scene Maybe someday you’ll see Just this joy you had with me Though we’re circling round the same sun I can’t tell where you go When darkness comes [CHORUS]

In the jungle I found all things were new And in the shadow of the cool I sailed my way right through that school And past And out the outer door Into a life of golden floors It’s a coronation song I’ve come home to days so long Blessings, open sky and throne I’ve come home I said yes to the cake And no to the snake And why to the liar How to the trier Turned potholes to portholes Eyes on the wire Room spun flew higher Landed my jumps Keep your eyes shut, won’t see a thing It’s a beautiful word when you don’t need a ring [CHORUS] It’s a beautiful world when you don’t need a ring Or a cape or a cavern A complex of havin’s Punch a clock stamp time I stamp over it, mine Don’t ask others to do for you what you would not do yourself Be careful what you sell Made mountains from vices It all so entices No ring but a crown, take that down Yeah [CHORUS] And in memory Maya Angelou, maybe sing this song to you Or Chopin, Vedder, Madonna, Jay-Z and Dre What’s better For in the shadow of the cool I was not alone For I had all of you Now I have all of you [CHORUS]

Lyrics: What if the next wave is bigger than this I’ve had times Well you push and you pull and you promise to win I’ve had times I’ve had times, I’ve had times What do you do when the grass turns to stone And the reef is a’ risin’ and nowhere calls home I’ve had times I’ve had times But into the blue Where no one will find me I speed into lightning dreams, tiptoe behind See the door where there’s no floor at all ‘Cause the waves don’t lie Waves don’t lie. What if the next wave is better than this I’ve had times And what if it fills me with oceans of bliss I’ve had times I’ve had times You get on a board with a fire in your soul And the arrows in arms, and a perfect heart hole I’ve had times I’ve had times Into the blue where no one will find me I tiptoe through lightning, leave thunder behind Find a friend in a watery wall ‘Cause the waves don’t lie Waves don’t lie I’m a wandering wavering wanting soul I’ve had times. Knowin’ a thing sure ain’t showin’ a thing I’ve had times, I’ve had times Do they love you when you’re winnin Will they love you when you’re losin Maybe true love lies in the friends that you’re choosin’ Does true love rise at all? Well the waves don’t lie Waves don’t lie. Steal what you want from me Take it for free I’ve had times And I’ll love you in spades But it’s me and the sea I’ve had times I’ve had times, I’ve had times Into the blue where no one will find me I tiptoe through lightning, leave thunder behind Find a friend in a watery wall Cause the waves don’t lie Waves don’t lie.

Market Boys 03:26
Lyrics: It’s a 3 o’clock morning when the wrecking ball begins There’s a quiet, cranking silence at the pier And the Brooklyn Bridge it does not seem to mind Just a few ripped-up faces writing time Fighting time Oh they ate all your glory on resplendent plates of steel Some delicious fishy mechany, with fries And they would not, did not, could not seem to mind They left only trails of lobster peel behind A world behind But who knows your blue? Market boys, Market boys You impressed with ability to get the job done Slinging, hauling, dancing catwalks family waits And they did not, would not, could not seem to mind Oh they’d rifle through your bins till they were blind How they were blind But who knows your blue? Market boys, Market boys It’s a song that drifts lightly from the sea Just a pair of hands that hoped to work, to free Oh we fought with everything we had to bleed But we learned to take exactly what we’d need Trusted need Now, who knows your blue Market boys, Market boys
